Do Hard Things

The Cool Conlon’s Wellness Center is a nurturing, safe, community-based wellness space designed to increase resilience among people living with anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The center exists to reduce isolation, support nervous system regulation, and foster meaningful human connection through accessible, non-clinical practices.

Objective

I want to create a new “3rd place” for friends, and friends of friends… which has now evolved further into a wellness center. While the ultimate goal is to have this be a free space for the community (or at least low cost, perhaps eventually run as a non-profit); I need capital to first build my creation as well as a place for my son and I to live out our days here on earth. This means that I will own the property and start out as a small business where I’m working from home helping to maintain and facilitate day to day operations. I do not plan to profit significantly from this but rather put as much money back into the property as I can. I do plan to make much of the outdoor space low cost or free to use. My hope is to have space to make a walking path around the property.

I would like to open my home to people that are interested in personal development, and who want to commit to a daily yoga and meditation practice with me. We’re talking long term community and relationship building. I don’t have to lead any part of it; in fact, if I can afford to, I would love to create jobs and hire a staff. I have been designing the space and plan to build a model of it. The idea is to build out a property focused on community and growth with an available full size kitchen, and a private living space within it for myself.

Ending the days by sitting around the fire and visiting with other community members that want to come together on any given day of the week.
